The Power of Believing in All Students

Believing in students is one of the most powerful change agents in schools.  We must show students we believe in them, listen to our students, earn our students’ trust, value what students value, give students a voice, and celebrate what students do right.  We must teach through modeling, building relationships, and valuing students, not through directives and mandates.  We need unique skills to work with students who are learning about themselves while trying to learn content standards, particularly for students affected by trauma and those with social and emotional needs.
